Because of double-13s effort to set up a new sandbox server since our old one seems to be down. reasons for that are unclear since we couldnt reach our server admin for a brief interview.
The server double-13 is using is so far only accessable via hamachi.
if you need detailed instructions for how to join a hamachi-based server read this:
first you need to install hamachi.
second step is to join a network containing the server host.
if the server host is online you can copy the needed IP out of hamachi from a dropdownmenu.
in BF2 (or any other game and/or mod it will work similar) then go to join local and click on connect to IP. then simply paste the IP and connect.
In most games hamachi servers wont be shown in the list, that is a completely normal issue because most games only search for games on the primary network (most likely that one with the internet) and if not manually set else hamachi is only second network and wont be scanned for possible servers. IP connect works fine then.
experience may vary from game to game.
remember that hamachi will still use the normal internet connection and wont be able to exceed your internet connection in any way. it is just emulating a network but in fact you still connect via internet.
also it is so far unlikely that double-13s server will be online around the clock, also it has some unsolved issues with various addons, so this is still considered a temporary solution.
still this shouldnt keep you from having fun...
